Ubutega was tied around their legs and complemented with “ibikomo” or Umuringa bracelets and “inigi” beads necklaces.

Nowadays they are draped over a dress, paired with a suit for a touch of elegance, or even styled with jeans and skirts, these accessories have been revamped into a modern fashion statement worn by both men and women.
Designers have reimagined them using various materials, from beads, recycled objects, woven products, Kitenge fabric to luxurious gemstones and precious metals, lending a distinct flair and modern touch to every look.
